The founders, Josue Castro and Luis Erazo, raised in a family meat distribution business established in 1969, witnessed firsthand the structural weaknesses of Honduras’ beef supply chain during the COVID-19 crisis in 2020.

As the crisis unfolded, small and mid-sized cattle ranchers were among the most affected—lacking access to competitive domestic capital to offset rising operational costs driven by inflation, and lacking the organization needed to sell their cattle efficiently in volatile markets.

This environment pushed the founders to pursue a new approach to unlocking Honduras’ beef cattle production potential in 2022, ultimately leading to the formal establishment of D y D Investments S.A. de C.V. in 2024.
